Bags of Klimt

These are very special little bags made from velvet, the surface design is inspired by the pattern in the work of Gustav Klimt.This workshop features 'Hotspots' from Nid-Noi my chum Kim Thittichai's mail order company. You will need a bit of experience with the sewing machine and free machine embroidery to do this workshop.

Black cotton velvet, 23 x 32 cm

Iron-on Vilene, heavy, 23 x 32 cm

Lining fabric (cotton, silk or polyester) to match your colour scheme, 23 x 32 cm

Transparent polyester organza to match your colours, 23 x 32 cm

Transfoils

Foil sweet wrappers

Scraps of fabrics (silks, cottons, etc) for collage)

Bondaweb, A4 size

Hotspots (see suppliers)

Baking parchment

Iron and ironing pad/board

Machine embroidery threads, metallics and coloured

Cord or embroidery threads for draw string  

Threads for making tassels

A bead to finish the tassel

A pack of eyelets plus hammer (I used 8.7cm)

Sewing machine with foot suitable for free machine embroider

Basic sewing kit: scissors, pins, needles, hand-stitching thread
